MINUTES OF MEETING



The meeting of the New Jersey Department of Transportation Retirees Association, Inc., was held on Tuesday, June 7th, 2007 at Roman Hall. After establishing a quorum was present, the meeting was called to order at 11:55 am by President Chet Andres, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

The Minutes of May’s meeting were received and approved.


TREASURER’S REPORT:


The report was received and accepted pending audit.


MEMBERSHIP REPORT:


The following name was submitted for membership:


                                           Peter Yull - Support Services (Life)


Dot reported she will be receiving a list of new DOT Retirees at the end of July. Letters of recruitment will be sent at that time.


COMMITTEE REPORTS:


Nominating Committee - Voting will take place at the June Luncheon for the five Directors who have agreed to serve another 3-year term. Also being voted on are two vacant Director positions. There has been a change in Directors’ titles - Jay Johnston will be 1st Vice President and Jim Dixon will be 2nd Vice President. Adrian Lincoln will stay on in a position of Director.

By-Laws - Chet requested we review the By-Laws to see if any changes should be made.


Website - Bruce reported 43 hits this past month for a total of 6,012 hits since inception


Memorial - Dee Murphy reported that the Easter flower sale netted $5,969.00. Jim Dixon received an e-mail from Meg Frampton indicating the Commissioner will probably sign the Jack Freidenrich proposal this week. Bob Innocenzi has contacted all previous Commissioners requesting their support of the proposal. The Annual Employees Picnic will be held on Thursday, June 21st.


SOCIALS:


Luncheons - Adrian reported aproximately 60 people will be attending the June Luncheon.


Trips - Jay Johnston reported that the Radio City Christmas Show has been finalized. The bus will leave from Suburban Plaza on December 10th at 9:00 am. The show will start at 2:00 pm. There are 49 seats available in the first five rows of the front messazine. The cost is $75.00 per person.


Picnic - Phil has been issued a permit for the use of the Princeton Country Club for our Annual Picnic scheduled for September 12th. Discussion was held on the cost per person. It was agreed that new members should attend free. Chet to get the cost of last year’s picnic from Lou Papp to determine the cost per person for the “Oldies”.


OLD BUSINESS: - None


NEW BUSINESS: - It has come to our attention that Roman Hall will close in September. Chet has requested we think of a place to hold our future meetings. This will be discussed at our August meeting.


The next meeting will be held on August 7, 2007 at Roman Hall beginning at 11:30 am.


There being no further business, a motion was made, seconded and carried to close the meeting; meeting adjourned at 1:25 pm.
