MINUTES OF MEETING


The March meeting of the New Jersey Department of Transportation Retirees Association, Inc., was held on Tuesday, March 4th 2008, at Tassara’s. After establishing a quorum was present, the meeting was called to order at 11:10 am by Second Vice President Jim Dixon, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

The minutes of February’s meeting were received and approved.


TREASURER’S REPORT:


The Treasurer’s Report was received and accepted pending audit. Pete Gorman will be performing our Annual Audit again this year.


MEMBERSHIP REPORT:


The following names were submitted and approved for membership:


             Michael Drangula (ROW) - Joseph Montegue (ROW Engineering)


It was agreed that the Application for Membership should be modified to include years of service and where they worked.


COMMITTEE REPORTS:


Nominating Committee - No Report

By-Laws - Changes to the By-Laws are still pending.


Website - Bruce reported 107 hits for last month, for a total of 6,696 hits.


Memorial - Jim reported that there will be an Easter Flower Sale on March 18th, 19th and 20th from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm in the Cafeteria. Also, a Mother’s Day Flower sale will be held on May 8th and 9th starting at 9:00 am. The Jack Freidenrich Proposal is still pending It has been reported that Brian Everson, Region I Construction, was killed in the line-of-duty sometime in the early 80's; however, his name does not appear on the Memorial Listing. Janet will ask Dot to check this out.


Trips - Peter will write something up for Jay in regards to having a Wine and Cheese Party. A discussion on this will be held at our April meeting.


Picnic - Phil received approval from Mercer County to hold our Annual Picnic at Belle Mountain. The date of the picnic is September 11, 2008.


Luncheons - Joe reported that so far he has received 51 reservations for our Spring Luncheon at Tassara’s. Adrian has finalized plans for our June Luncheon. It will be at the Cranbury Inn on June 4th, 2008.


OLD BUSINESS: - None


NEW BUSINESS:


Since Jim will be away, Mary Bock and Peter Yull volunteered to stuff envelopes for the mailing of the May issue of DOTLine.


Janis asked if anyone knows the whereabouts of Mory Epstein to contact Dot Andres, since his DOTLine was returned indicating a wrong address.


Jim to check Uno’s for May’s Meeting, since our present room is too small.


The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 1st at Tessara’s starting at 11:00 am.


There being no further business, a motion was made, seconded and carried to close the

meeting; meeting adjourned at 11:50 am.
